Basketball Shoes: A Silent Economic Commentary

It has been said that we, as a country, are in the worst economic times
since the depression.

You be the judge.

Basketball during the depression (1931-1932):

Compare that with a few shots from one of Taylor's games last week.

A glimpse of the basketball shoes:
Hmmm....is there a pair less than $75 in the bunch?
(Except for Taylor's, of course!)

As bad as the Depression?
I don't think so.
Just my opinion.

Good one Joy. I agree, I know it's bad for some and I feel simpathy, we have had to do without a few more things ourselves, like a flat screen TV. I don't see that it's as bad for the whole country as it was in the times of the Great Depression. The size homes we live in, cars we drive, clothes we wear and food we consume alone is a testament to the abundance that still exists in the promised land. What still has to happen to humble us as a country..I wonder?
