Scripture study helps with School Work---Guaranteed!

Tonight after dinner we read a chapter in the Book of Mormon. One of the verses had the word "murmur" in it.

Kristen said murmur was one of her spelling words this last week. She said that when everyone heard the spelling word during the pretest, they made comments like, "What kind of a word is that?" "Where did that come from?" No one but her had heard the word before.

Kristen not only had heard the word before, but knew what it meant so she was able to define it for everyone.

Kristen's School Program

Each year at Walker's Grove, each grade puts on a school program based upon a unit they study. They do classroom display, art work and a music program based on the topic. Kristen's program this year was about the 50 states. She and 4 other students worked on a presentation about the state of Idaho. For one of the assignments, they took a coffee can and filled it with facts, pictures, and items that represented Idaho. Kristen originally wanted to put the DVD case to "Napolean Dynamite" in the can, but her teacher nixed that idea. She didn't know what Napolean Dynamite had to do with Idaho. It has EVERYTHING to do with Idaho!

Kristen's 10th Birthday

On April 2nd, we celebrated Kristen's 10th birthday. It's hard to believe she is that old. I remember so distinctly, the day she was born. I remember holding her the first time. I remember, even in the hospital room, how she just looked and looked at everything--trying to take it all in. That trait has stayed with her. Her curiousity and inquisitiveness about life and what is going on around her is boundless. She desires to know and understand not only the things around her, but the people around her. These attributes will serve her well throughout her life. We are so thankful to have Kristen in our home.
