Inaugural Fashion Review

After yesterday, I know everyone's thoughts today are centered on FASHION. (I know I can't get it out of my mind.)

Soooooooooo...what is everyone's opinion of the Inaugural fashions?

Being the UNfashionable person that I am (see here for an explanation of my adult Garanimal wear), I thought it only appropriate to share my take on it all....

I really liked Michelle's yellow ensemble worn during the day yesterday.

However, her pick for the evening festivities

had too much of a Flinstone-esque flavor for my taste.
Just my opinion....

I have to say that when i was watching all of the inauguration goings-on yesterday, I thought there is not enough adrenaline in the world that could have kept me going in the cold all day and then dancing into the night at 10 balls. So I have to give props to my peeps, the Obamas that rhyme with Llamas, for keeping smiles on their faces thru it all. Whoop, whoop! yeah...

I'm with you, Joy. I really liked her daytime outfit, but the evening gown...not good. At least it wasn't as bad as the black and red number that she wore on the night of the primaries:

Hey, just wondering what your weather was today? Ours was 80. Take care. Is it cold there?

I agree with you on the dresses. I thought her evening dress looked a bit bird like, but she is getting rave reviews about it. Blah, blah, blah... :)

It was very Flinstone-esque. I just commented on facebook too about this. And to be clear...its not that I didn't like the yellow ensemble, I just thought it a strange choice for being sworn in. I'd go with something a little more classic!

Best inaugeral coverage I've seen or read yet!

I am totally with you!! She needs to get a stylist that is a little more consistant. You just never now what you are going to get with her. Less is more!

That is hilarious. I didn't even notice the resemblance, but it really does look the same.
But isn't it funny how everyone in the news loves the dress? She obviously can do no wrong right now.

You should send the side by side of Michelle and Wilma to the Sun Times and see if you can get it published....

Hahaha! Loved the Wilma Flinstone comparison. I heard that the evening dress was designed by an unknown designer, Jason Wu, to be "fresh" and aspirational. Okay, but not on the inaugural night. She needed to be dressed by a fool-proof "ball gown" designer, like Carolina Herrera, Armani, Badgley Mischka, or Reem Acra (worn by Jill Biden).

I loved her day ensemble though -- very regal and fitting for a First Lady "coronation." I didn't like the green gloves/shoes, though. I would have chosen a champaigne color. But, whadoIknow?

I kept wondering who was trying to do her in. It looked like a sheet with feathers stuck on it. She looked like a young teenager going to her first prom. She walked like it too.
Her day dress was nice and held up well.
